Tianjin situated in the northeastern part of the north China Plain in the Bohai Sea Gulf region on the western coast of the Pacific Ocean. The city covers a total area of 11,919.7 square kilometers with a coastline of 153 kilometers. The annual average temperature standing at around 11C. Tianjin is one of the ten major famous cities of China, Tianjin boasts a large number of cultural sites, scenic spots, and many other tourist resources. Tianjin has a total population of 9.85 million, including 6 million urban residents living in the municipally - administered districts.

Economic development Tianjin is the largest industrial and commercial city in north China. Tianjin has formed an industrial system with four major sectors: The sector of automobile machinery equipment manufacture, the sector of micro - electronic and telecommunications equipment manufacture, the sector of marine chemical and petro-chemical industry, and the sector of high quality steel pipes and superior steel manufacture. Tianjin’s has Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 115 billion in 1999. The city’s agricultural gained a growth of 8.5%, industrial growth 15%, the proportion of tertiary industry in the city’s total GDP grew to 42.5% from 38.7% in the previous year. The city’s consumer goods retail sales total reached 50 billion RMB, an increase of 25% of over previous year.

 

Transportation and Telecommunications  Tianjin boasts convenient and developed transportation facilities, and has established a sea, land and air transportation system with the port as the center. The port covering a total area of more than 200 square kilometers, Tianjin is the largest comprehensive trading port in north China. The port maintains trade contacts with more than 160 countries and regions across the world. The port annually handled more than 65 million tons of cargo pass years.     Jingwu Martial Arts Festival

The Jingwu Martial Arts Centre, founded more than a hundred years ago by Huo Yuanjia, a famed patriotic martial art master of modern China, is still active today. The Martial Arts Festival will be held in Tianjin, Huo YuanJia's hometown, a grand gathering of martial arts lovers from around the world.

       
    Dule Temple

It is located in Jixian County 113 kilometers from downtown Tianjin. The Tower of Guanyin, 23 meters high, was rebuilt in 984, and is the oldest tower in China. It enshrines a clay statue of Guanyin, 16 meters high, made in the Liao Dynasty.
