SICHUAN - Chengdu (Capital of the Province):
Chengdu is located at the center and is the capital of Sichuan Province. It

financial and scientific center in the southwestern China, and a transport

highway transportation had grew smoothly. The city cargo handling volume hit
to 20 billion ton - kilometers, and its passenger miles hit 19.8 billion
person-kilometers. It had expanded over 850,000 program-controlled exchanges
and bring the city has more than 500,000 telephone subscribers, 135,000
mobile phone subscribers and 250,000 public telephone stations.
Development of Foreign Economic and Trade: Chengdu is continuous
strengthened its effort to attract outside investment. From the foreign
investments, the number of enterprises in the three forms of joint-ventures
has rose to 2,500 in the recent year. The enterprises in the three forms of
joint ventures earned 78.5 million US dollars by exports. The city
cooperation in economy and technology had established economic and trade
relations with 82 foreign countries.
Urban New Economic Development Zone: The city had established 16
development zones and five experimental zones-two by state, two by province
and one by the city. Five key development zones show rapid growth, becoming
windows to attract outside investors. By now, more than 50 foreign
enterprises invested in the zones, with agreed investment totaling over 200
million US dollars.
Other cities Economic Development of the Province: Panzhihua, Deyang,
Yibin, Zigong, and Luzhou are the most economic developing cities of the
Sichuan Province.
